Press Release: British Muslims for Israel condemns Jerusalem Bomb Plot

British Muslims for Israel condemns the terrorist attack in Jerusalem today. Such acts of indiscriminate violence are never justified, hurt the cause of Palestinians and harden public opinion in Israel.

Hasan Afzal, a spokesperson for British Muslims for Israel says "Today's attacks seem to be of a piece with the extreme violence perpetrated against Israelis in the last few weeks. First we had the Itamar massacre, then a barrage of rocket attacks from Palestine into Israel and now the attack in Jerusalem. These attacks hurt all sides, and help no one."

Afzal added "Recent events have shown that groups such as Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade are determined to kill indiscriminately and use ordinary Palestinians as hostages to their cause. We urge all British Muslims to condemn these senseless attacks which block any attempts for peace and ruin the lives of both Israelis and Palestinians".

Press Release: British Muslims for Israel condemns murder of Vale Vittorio Arrigoni

British Muslims for Israel [1] [2] condemns the brutal murder of Italian Palestinian activist Vale Vittorio Arrigoni. Arrigoni was killed whilst in the Gaza strip by an extremist Palestinian group.

Hasan Afzal, a spokesperson for British Muslims for Israel says “Gaza has become a breeding ground for Islamists and violent extremists. Arrigoni’s tragic death shows that those hell-bent in preventing peace are willing to kill advocates of Palestine. They are not interested in Palestinian statehood but are consumed in their hatred for Israel and western values”

Shortly after Arrigoni’s death, Hamas have formally claimed that they to suspect Israel for the tragedy in Gaza [3].

Afzal added “It is shameful that, instead of robustly defending Arrigoni’s memory, Hamas have joined conspiracy theorists in trying to pin the blame on Israel. No conspiracy can leave out the fact his killers were extremist Muslims and operated from Hamas-run Gaza”.

Press Release: British Muslims for Israel condemns Hamas praise for Osama Bin Laden

British Muslims for Israel condemns the eulogy of Osama bin Laden, by Hamas, as the majority of the world stood with the United States in solidarity. This comes after Hamas leader Ismail Haniya described the attack as a "continuation of the United States policy of destruction" and described Osama bin Laden as an "Arab holy warrior".

British Muslims for Israel’s spokesperson, Hasan Afzal, responded "We're not surprised that Hamas, a terrorist group, would offer such praise to bin Laden. Osama bin Laden shared many of the goals that Hamas believe in. Bin Laden's death must be devastating to their destructive cause."

He added, "Hamas joins a tiny minority of leaders who have condemned the death of Osama bin Laden. Since Hamas have taken power, violent Islamists have begun to thrive in the Gaza. By promoting the Islamist ideology, worldview and narrative, Hamas has planted the seeds of Jihadism. Not only is this a threat to Israel, but a threat to all decent people in the Middle East and beyond."
